About the Competition
The Great New Zealand Sausage Competition is organised by Retail Meat New Zealand and is New Zealand’s premier sausage judging event.
The competition is an annual highlight for butchers and small-goods manufacturers as they vie for their sausages to be named the Supreme Award Winner. Makers can also be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
Entries open: Monday 19 July
Entries close: Friday 22 October
Category judging: 17-18 November
Grand final: 19 November
The competition has been running since 1994, this year's competition will be held at the Auckland Seafood School.
Entries are accepted from all New Zealand sausage makers whose products are available for retail sale. Entries are accepted across twelve categories:
